The brief said the global photos looked too perfect. Hand-built sets and real drinks for a season of iced coffee.
Nespresso Canada arrived with a note you rarely hear: the global summer photos looked too perfect. Too rigid, too retouched, close to AI. Customers could not see themselves in the coffee.
That note became the brief. I designed color-blocked worlds and shot the season into them. Yellow, lilac, pink, coral: one hand-built set per world. Real drinks with visible layers, foam caught the second it forms, styled to look made instead of rendered.
Seventeen pieces shipped for the Canadian summer, photography and motion in one visual language, now live on nespresso.ca.
